Uru: Ages Beyond Myst is a spin-off and the eighth chronological entry in the Myst saga that was released on November 11, 2003. Although it did fairly poorly on the market and was the worst-selling game in the franchise, it spawned two expansion packs, and an MMOG. Uru: Ages Beyond Myst takes place almost two centuries after the events of Myst IV: Revelation.

In 1988, Elias Zandi stumbles across the underground city of D'ni. After finding it, he starts the DRC, which begins to restore D'ni.

Years later, Explorers (players) start feeling drawn to the cleft where they get a request from Yeesha to take her journey and help return the Bahro to the Cavern by finding the journey's in each age and moving the pillars from one Bahro cave to one over Ae'gura.
