The Last King was a book written by the D'ni author Yemas in 7002 DE (655 BCE), concerning, as its title suggests, the last King of D'ni, Kerath. The DRC used the book as reference material when writing the King Rikooth Notebook, citing it twice: firstly, with a statement that Hisha had far more influence on her and Rikooth's three sons (including the youngest, Kerath) than Rikooth did, and that her influence would change D'ni forever; and secondly, with an explanation as to why Kerath was banished from the palace along with Hisha - because it was apparently well known that Kerath was a model of his mother's thoughts, and Rikooth could hardly stand him.
