The Fore-chamber in 1806
Housing the imager
The fore-chamber is a room located underground Myst Island. It can be accessed through a door in the wall at the docks. Inside, there is an imager, along with a panel to control it on the wall near the stairs. The room is currently not accessible as the door leading to it has rusted shut.
The imager can be switched on or off with the button on it. The recording to display can be selected with the control panel. It has a list with most of the settings on it, which can be slid away using a button. This will reveal a two-digit number input used to select a recording, and a red button used to close the panel or delete a recording.
Although there are 100 settings, only 4 are used:
- 08 Atrus's Message
- 40 Topographical extrusion test
- 47 Marker Switch Diagram
- 67 Water - Turbulent Pool
All other settings will cause the imager to glow shortly, then turn off again.
It is possible to delete any of the recordings. This can be done by pressing the red button to close the panel, waiting for the high-pitched beeps and then pressing the button again.

|The following section is written from an Out-of-Cavern (OOC) perspective. All fictional events should be considered fictional.|
- The Topographical extrusion test from the original is different than in realMYST so that it now resembles Rime.
- The fore-chamber was originally not part of the game. It was added later along with Atrus's note to give players a start.
