Ailesh (D'niAleS, Eylesh) was the first Grand Master of the D'ni Guild of Writers and the second King of D'ni.

Biography[edit]

Ailesh was born circa 50 BE (7707–7706 BCE). Much of his early life remains a mystery, though at a very young age he was apprenticed to Ri'neref, and remained his apprentice until the Descriptive Book to Earth was complete. Ailesh was one of the few thousand who followed Ri'neref to Earth when it became clear that Garternay's sun was dying.

In 8 DE (7649 BCE), Ri'neref started D'ni's Guild of Writers and made Ailesh the first Grand Master of the guild.

In 120 DE (7537–7536 BCE), Ri'neref died due to heart problems and left the throne to Ailesh, who was 170 years old at the time. Like Ri'neref, he was content with an ordinary home and would refuse a palace until a Common Library could be built.

Ailesh had three sons. The eldest two were fairly rebellious and the public thought that neither would be good candidates for the throne. Shomat, Ailesh's third son, was born in 256 DE (7401–7400 BCE), and as he grew, Shomat followed close to the ideas of his father.

Ailesh died in 300 DE (7357–7356 BCE) at the age of 350. Shomat was selected to succeed his father.
