Cyan, Inc. (formerly named Cyan Worlds and Prolog) is a video game company founded in 1987 by Rand and Robyn Miller. They are best known for the creation of the Myst franchise. The company is based in Mead, Washington, near Spokane.

Founded in 1987 by Rand and Robyn Miller, the company was originally known as "Prolog". Their first game, The Manhole was released in 1988 which was published by Activision. Around then, they changed the name of the company to Cyan. Cosmic Osmo and the Worlds Beyond the Mackerel soon followed in 1989 and in 1991, Spelunx was released, which was published by Sunsoft. Around then, Sunsoft encouraged them to make an adult game, which Cyan agreed to do. Their staff was doubled from two to four when they brought on Chris Brandkamp and Chuck Carter.

On October 17, 2013, a Kickstarter campaign for a new game, Obduction, was launched. Obduction, while designed in the same spirit as Myst, would be their first major product out of the Myst universe since Spelunx and the Caves of Mr. Seudo. The base funding goal was reached on November 13th, 2013, one day before the Kickstarter campaign ended.
